good Door system 😊👍
Very nice cockpit
Good sailboat ⛵ Also good FT'
So after all the use do you thinks it’s a good unit?
Absolutely! We still think it's a great radar for coastal cruising.
@@theboatgeeks super thanks!
6:39- What happened to the stair tread? Probably not a great idea to include a slide featuring damage.
Amazing boat!
The magazine is not the same without Bob and Jody
Very informative. I tossed my 35 yr old Furuno radar. This wireless feature is a gift when installing the dome. Power cable only.
How much for this dana 24?
Great job Bob! Thanks to you and RBAW!
My local Marina has a 1976 Luhrs 32 fisherman I think is what it is, idk why but I like the looks, kinda reminds me of Gilligan's island, I know it's inboard Chrysler gas 300hp, I know most prefer diesel, I don't know that much about yachts though, it has been setting there a long time for $15k.
I'm on a big lake, so no saltwater so it may be in decent shape.
The Luhrs 32 is definitely a classic! As long as it doesn't have big holes in it like the SS Minnow on Gilligan's Island. 🙂
Can you check out the Makaira Stand?
We didn't visit them this year. Will have to try next year!
Great work that RBAW does! Thank you.
Yes, they certainly do!
Agree, impressive. Especially for an all volunteer organization. I signed up.
@@marklong8608 Awesome, thank you, Mark!
You just start good you got me ,I on a 1997 46 ,so I feel you .
Cool! Where is your boat moored?
Brilliant 👍👍👍
Belle unité ⛵🤩
Awesome informative video. Thanks for sharing. This town is on my bucket list.
this has been disproven. The manual itself says to only discharge occasionally, which is still great!. But only regularly discharge to 50%, you will be disappointed otherwise. The reason for this incorrect recommendation is that people seem to like making eye-popping announcements. Anyway its a moot point now as the US distributor has ceased selling due to quality control issues. Doubtlessly these salacious claims didn't help. This is a mistake all new battery manufacturers make before they learn it hurts business more in the long run to allow unchecked claims.
Lots of beat up old RV's on back streets and a few old rusted scows. Come for the night life.
Just don't think 11yr old content is relevant
looks great. needs wide crapper for faster job!!! overall great tool
Nice.
what would you say about it 7 years later, Sir?
They are still going strong! It was actually 8 years ago now when we installed them (June 2015). Although if we were making the same decision on which batteries to use in 2023 I would likely go with lithium. Prices are SO much better now, and the performance/safety is even better. That being said, the carbon fiber batts are definitely way better than lead acid for long term cruising.
@@pacificNWboater I think we can definitely use a video update about the current condition of these batteries, how you're maintaining them, and their current power condition/performance. Thank you Sir
@@AlamShamma You know, that's a darn good idea! I think we will do that. Thanks!

Have 2 FF, 8 years old. Always left at a partial state of charge. Last year i did a capacity test. Both tested at ot above 100% capacity. They seem to thrive on abuse. It is all moot as they are NLA. I am unsure if I will go LFP or go back to FLA when these give up the ghost.
The best harbor Wooden classic design sailboats and famous Wooden Boat Festival . Thank you and great video. Greetings from tropical paradise island Kauai ,Hawaii .
Thank you, glad you liked the video. We've been to your beautiful tropical island paradise, although it was almost 30 years ago. Need to go back!
Love your videos. Would like to see more.
Just last week my highschool had a sailing trip to the San Juan islands. It was very memorable and me and all my friends grew close together. James island and skull island were my most favorite island. At James island me and my friend would sit on the curved tree at 1:55 and talk and me and my other friends tried climbing the madrona on the left lol. The San Juan islands are truly beautiful.
Will it haul a person up the mast in the bosuns chair?

Hello! Great video. What type of backup camera did you have? does that work with your iPad
Hi from the Port of Poulsbo ... drop by this year ... we'd love to show you the new breakwater, larger guest berths, and improved features! We've got some great initiatives brewing as well!! Oh yes ... don't forget to drop by Longship Marine and see their new digs ... and the initiative they have to restore the old Sons of Norway hall into an events center! All the best ... and look forward to seeing you from the Port Commission and all down at the waterfront!!
Hello there neighbors! It definitely sounds like it's time to come back and see all the grand improvements. We've been hearing good things!
Can buy 12,000' of 1/2" polypropylene braided rope on a plastic spool for the same price, $90.00 for 600'... poly has high tensile strength and wear capability too.
As an owner of a 5 years old 32 boat, the visibility as you mentioned is VERY POOR. On plane the boat isn't perfect "on plane". there is a degree of upwards in the bow of the boat. From the seating position I can't see squat. I have to stand up to be closer to the window and see in front of the boat. Very poor design. This is the general opinion of real boat owner and not of a salesperson.
6years later and i only now hear of this. Where can get this. I am from Namibia,Africa
Cpt. Gary!! Wow! He was the one that got me into the lifestyle! Took me sailing on shootin the breeze..4 months later i bought a cal and was a liveaboard...im currenyly in the garage on xmas morning showing my wife my former life! Thanks to Bob and crew for the great times!!

This is perfect for perch fishing on lake Erie.
Hello there, the video is dated as 1 year ago. Is that accurate and how is the coating performing?
Hi Nathan - This video was originally published in April, 2013. We revised the video description last year as the boat yard company we used no longer exists. But to answer your question, the Coppercoat is still working great almost 10 years later. The hull develops a slime layer, but no hard growth adheres to the surface of the hull. Things can attach themselves to the slime, but they are easily wiped off along with the slime. A plastic scraper works great, too. Areas where there is no Coppercoat - rudders, struts, props, etc. - will get barnacles and other hard growth. But not the hull itself. In fact our neighbor just dove on our boat two weeks ago to clean our props and he reported that the hull looked great.
@@pacificNWboater That is fantastic, is there anyone else in the PNW that have applied this product recently and more than once you might know of?
@@nathankusler3855 I know there have been other boats with Coppercoat applied here in the PNW, but we don't know them personally. The folks at Coppercoat USA may have a list.
@nathankusler I have copper coat on my boat, 49' defever' and we just took the boat out after about 7 months in the water. It was a simple rinse with a bit of pressure, but to be honest that was not even necessary. We spend a lot of time on anchor in the Med and that means warm water, but absolutely no problem whatsoever. The reason we went out of the water is the installation of stabilizers, so now I have to patch the coppercoat up again, which I am doing myself. What made me decide for coppercoat ? Every 2 years I had to renew the anti-fouling, which was 1200 euro haul out, 2000 euro in sanding and application cost and then around 1000 - 1500 euro in anti fouling product. Now I paid 2500 euro for the copper coat and 1600 euro for the sandblasting plus application. It is that we now had to come out of the water, but once we go back in at the end of this week, we are not planning to take the boat out for the next couple of years. With the old anti-fouling I had to hire a diver to clean the hull twice a year and that was 600 euro each time. So when you make the calculation you are saving a ton of money using copper coat. And that money I can spend on other parts of the boat, which is great. I do recommend you get some people, who know what they are doing, to apply it for you. If you have never done it and never seen it the chances you are going to mess up are pretty big. That would be a pity, so I paid very well attention how they applied it and now I can do the patch up around the stabilzers myself. So yes, I am a very happy customer.
It certainly sounds like the way to go with a warm water ocean, I had customers in southern California that hauls just for a pressure wash every 3 or 4 months, even with good antifoul.
Coming from years of sailing a Santana 22, this is one beautiful boat! Wow!!
Fun fact: The scene in Hunt For Red October where Alec Baldwin falls from the helicopter into the water, to get on the submarine, was filmed in the Juan de Fuca Strait area, and that was really was Alec falling into the water. In fact, he said how cool it would be to have the scene set up the way it is in the movie, and John McTiernan took him up on that offer.
Kewl!

Hi, Nice video. Can I use the Furuno as a gps atena for the ipad if i download the TZ App witgh thge radar so I dont have to get the I pad with with 5G in it Thanks
Hi Michael - Sorry for the delayed response! I didn't get a notice from UA-cam about your comment. Just came across it. You may already have found an answer, but the Furuno itself does not have GPS. In order for the TZ navigation app to function properly, you will need an iPad with GPS. That being said, if you have another navigation source and you just want to use radar, the Furuno app itself does not need an iPad with GPS, just wifi capability.
Small cockpit.
Great little boat but very poor shower.
Nice boat. But please be honest - there is nothing large about the swim platform. Unless you unload the tender you can’t even access the water.
how cares what you're going to do, show us how to actually do it
You must have missed the point. We are making a video of how to do it. We just haven't finished yet (too many other things have gotten in the way, so we're way behind schedule).
Great review, I’ll be getting one too. Also, what camera are you using for the backup? Thanks
I love camping their it such grateful place to camp go crabbing and clamming
I've loved following you guys and watching your videos over the years. This is a great video. I'm new to radar. I am going to put radar on our Bayliner 305 asap. I'm so overwhelmed trying to research what radar to purchase, and what else I need to go along with it. Picture a head spinning emoji here LOL.
Thanks for the kind words, Sean! If you end up deciding on the Furuno DRS4W, we do have them in our store at $995 with the WIRELESS100 coupon code (and all you’ll need to have wireless radar is an iPad or iPhone): www.pacificnwboatertested.com/products/furuno-1st-watch-wireless-radar-drs4w
@@pacificNWboater That's great, thank you. Would you recommend this a new person to the world of radar? We'll just be traveling the Puget Sound and San Juans. We'll be planning a Inside Passage trip in the near future. No plans to boat at night. Basically want it for protection from the fog that mysteriously rolls in on ya, and on those occasions we may get stuck in the dark, and of course to monitor traffic while cruising. I like the protection zone that it has. I like the chart app that you recommend also. I've just read up so much that it's mind numbing LOL. It seems to fit the bill. Thanks a bunch.
Hi Sean, yes we absolutely recommend this system for even new boaters. Number one, it’s very simple to install. Number two, it provides all that you need to cruise the PNW safely in fog or at night. And the TZ iBoat navigation app with the radar overlay is awesome!
👍👍👍👏👏
